2. Automated Temperature Screening Devices
Many businesses, schools, and healthcare facilities have begun to trust their temperature monitoring to a growing number of automated thermometer devices. Either mounted on a nearby wall or resting on a kiosk-like stand, these devices allow visitors to screen themselves using mounted contact-free infrared thermometer capabilities. Visitors step forward to the device which automatically detects their presence and provides necessary instructions to commence a bodily temperature check of the wrist or forehead. Some models can also detect the presence of a protective face mask to enforce mask-wearing protocols. Some models can send images of faces of those scanned to managers or HR specialists for office settings. Pros:

- Devices require initial installation and may require occasional maintenance and/or software updates.
- Automated temperature screeners may still require a certain degree of staff supervision to ensure visitors screen themselves properly.
Not Better or Worse, Just Different
For some businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, or workplaces, one of these temperature screening options may be better suited over its alternative approach. A favorite eatery may prefer the automated device to foster a less intrusive feel. A hospital may prefer their screening processes to be conducted by medical professionals. Either way, every location should carefully consider which direction will be most beneficial for their temperature screening needs.
